Footprints
It was twilight and no one else was on the beach
I asked Hashem to help strengthen my faith and trust
Suddenly, Hashem began to show me a movie of my
life, like so many footprints in the sand
sometimes there were two sets of footprints side by
side
Other times, there was only one.
Each time I was about to face a tough situation in
life
I'd only see one set of footprints
I felt so alone
There were times when the whole world was exploding
all around me
I often felt that I couldn't go on....
Battle after battle Like an endless nightmare
You promised me, Hashem, that if I followed Your
commandments, You'd never leave me.
So why is there only one set of footprints during
all my times of trouble?
Hashem, where were You when I really needed You?
"My beloved child," answered Hashem from on high,
"the times when you saw only one set of
footprints
are the times when I carried you!" |
